I’m going to tell you a story about my tooth. Last time, I had a terrible tooth pain, so I went to to the dentist. When the doctor looked at my teeth, he didn’t see any problem with it. But I insisted that it must have a problem because I feel incredible pain for 2 hours straight before.
Previously the pain has been there since January, but when the doctor didn’t see it so I didn’t admit it. I thought I can handle it myself by including flossing to my dental routine. This was a bad decision. For people who don’t want to end up like me, just admit “small” problems to your doctor, because it’s usually not a small problem if you can feel pain. For some time, I did flossing and it actually help ease the pain a lot.
Back to the doctor’s office, the doctor finally asked me to do x-ray on the spot. So I did. After that, the doctor finally admitted that it has a problem and it looks quite bad. It looks like there is a hole inside my teeth and since you experience incredible pain, it look like your tooth cavity has reached the nerves.
The doctor then starts to drill my tooth open and he found a lot of black rotten tissue inside my tooth. He keeps drilling and finally it reached my nerves. He says that he should still be drilling to clear the rotten tissue, but since I can’t handle the pain he recommend root canal treatment.
I finally have to face the harsh option of:
- Doing full root canal treatment and repair it, which might fail as the cavity is deep and may causes leakage. or,
- Do tooth extraction which means I lost my precious teeth.
I decided to do full root canal treatment in an attempt to save my teeth. But I’m quite sad because everytime I come to the dentist it’s often too late to repair my teeth.
